In order to help our regional exhibitors, breeders, and vendors who have experienced catastrophic losses due to natural disasters (such as hurricanes, floods, tornados, etc), the CFA Southern Region is establishing a Southern Region Disaster Relief Fund. This fund will disburse assistance to "our own" based on need and availability of funds as determined by Peg Johnson, our Regional Director, and the Southern Region Disaster Relief Fund Committee. The Southern Region Disaster Relief Fund Committee consists of Emily Turner, Linda Peterson, Wendy Reese, and Steve Baylus. The relief fund is not meant to replace insurance but provide immediate financial relief for those severely impacted by a natural disaster. Only those who have either exhibited in a CFA Show in the past year or are a verifiable member of a Southern Region CFA club will be eligible for assistance. They must live in a state that is part of the Southern Region (Alabama, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky (South of the 38th parallel), Maryland, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee (East of the Tennessee River), the U.S. Virgin Islands and Virginia.) and have been directly affected by a natural disaster.
